Q1: How does HELP A CHILD SMILE 50/50 online raffle work?
A1: The 50/50 draw administered by HELP A CHILD SMILE is a raffle licensed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) where the participants purchase ticket(s) for the opportunity to win 50% of the total money raised through the sale of 50/50 tickets.

Q2: Where does the other 50% of the proceeds raised go?
A2: The other 50% of the proceeds raised fund HELP A CHILD SMILE’s programs supporting families affected by childhood cancer in Hamilton’s McMaster Children’s Hospital catchment area.

Q3: Who is eligible to buy 50/50 draw tickets?
A3: Only persons who meet the following criteria can participate:
(a) You must be 18 years of age or older at the time of purchase.
(b) You must be physically in the Province of Ontario at the time of purchase.
(c) You must not be one of the following:
(i) A HELP A CHILD SMILE Board member or the spouse of a Board member 
(ii) Such other person who is designated from time-to-time as a Related Party by HELP A CHILD SMILE

NOTES: 1. Prior to the purchase of a ticket online, you will be required to verify your eligibility and that the information provided is complete and accurate.  2. Do NOT uncheck the 'Remember my information' box UNLESS you do NOT want us to call or email you if you have the winning ticket. Without your contact info, it will be your responsibility to check our FB page and website for the posted winning number, then contact us.

Q4: Can I play more than once in a game?
A4: Yes, you can purchase more than one ticket per event or game.

Q5: What are the odds of winning?
A5: The odds of winning a prize are based on the number of tickets sold.

Q6: Do I have better odds online?
A6: Your odds of winning do not change based on how you purchase your 50/50 draw ticket; online and in-venue sales have the same odds of winning, which are based on the number of tickets sold.

Q7: How is the winning number drawn?
A7: A unique winning number is randomly selected and issued by the BUMP 50/50 system out of the numbers purchased for that particular draw. The mechanism for selecting the winning number is a computer-based random number generator that has been certified by the AGCO.

Q8: When is the winning number drawn?
A8: 50/50 ticket sales close on May 31st, 2021 at 6 pm and the draw will be live-streamed from 17 Debby Cresc., Brantford, ON  N3R 7A4 to at 7 pm.

Q9: How will I be notified if I have the winning ticket?
A9: Attempts will be made by phone/email/mail to contact the winner using the information provided at the time of purchase for up to 30 days.

Q10: How do I claim my prize?
A10: If you have the winning 50/50 number you must complete the required Help A Child Smile Winner Claim Form within 30 days of the draw date. You must produce your signed winning ticket along with a Government-issued photo ID.  The winning ticket may not be tampered with. HELP A CHILD SMILE reserves the right to deny winnings if the ticket has been reproduced or changed from its original state.

Note: Online 50/50 winnings must be claimed by the individual named in the original transaction. HELP A CHILD SMILE is not responsible for any division of the winning prize amount to any party other than the individual named in the original purchase transaction.

Q11: What currency is the prize money paid in?
A11: All transactions are paid in Canadian Dollars.  Prizes will be paid by a cheque made payable to the winner.

Q12: When can I expect to receive my winnings?
A12: Prize winnings will be paid within 30 days of the completion of the claim process.

Q13: Do I need to live in Ontario to play?   
A13: You do not need to live in the Province of Ontario to purchase a 50/50 ticket, but you must be physically in the Province of Ontario at the time of purchasing your online 50/50 ticket to be eligible to play.

Q14: How can I pay for my online 50/50 ticket?
A14: Our online 50/50 website accepts the following types of payment: Visa; Visa Debit; Mastercard and American Express. If you are having difficulty processing a transaction using your Visa Debit, please contact your financial institution to enable the web sale.

Q15: I cannot access - what should I do?
A15: Per AGCO regulations, please be advised that you must be located within the Province of Ontario at the time of your purchase. Your device’s locations services must be turned on to verify your location prior to entry to the online 50/50 sales platform. You must also agree to all Terms and Conditions outlined.

Q16: I purchased a 50/50 ticket but did not get my numbers. What should I do?
A16: If you purchased your 50/50 ticket but did not receive your numbers, please check your junk and spam folders.  If you still do not have your 50/50 ticket(s), contact and our support staff will re-send your raffle numbers (some verification will be required).  As long as your transaction completed successfully, your numbers will still be entered into the draw.

Q17: Will my name be publicized if I am a winner?
A17: In accordance with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) regulations, winner information must be collected and provided to the AGCO, including ticket number, full name and contact information.  

Winner information will also be published on the, and on HELP A CHILD SMILE’s Facebook page at By claiming a prize, winner consents to the use of their first and last name, ticket number, city/town of residence and the audio/video recording (or written transcription) of the winner notification, for any publicity purposes by HELP A CHILD SMILE.  Winner information may be released to the news media and may be used in advertising for HELP A CHILD SMILE.

Location Troubleshooting Tips:

Q18: Why does require my location and/or why am I receiving the following prompt: ‘  would like to use your current location’
A18: Your current location is required to confirm eligibility.  The raffle will be offered throughout the Province of Ontario (the ‘Raffle Area’).  It is Void outside the Raffle Area and where prohibited by law, rules, or regulation.

Q19: What if I already selected ‘Don’t Allow’?
A19: Reloading the page should cause you to be prompted to share your location again. If you have specified that you never want to share your location, you will need to go into your settings to allow sharing. See below* for instructions.

Q20: What if I receive the following prompt: ‘You must allow your browser to share your location to purchase tickets’.
A20: Please click ‘OK’ to reload this page, then be sure to allow your browser to share your location when prompted.  Note: In some browsers the popup may say ‘Close’ instead of ‘OK’.

Q21: I entered the incorrect email and did not print my tickets, how can I get my tickets resent?
A21: Please contact and request to have your tickets emailed to you.

Q22: What if I cannot purchase tickets on due to location issues?
A22: You may have told your browser to never share your location.  You need to change that setting to allow the sale.
